Anyone else applied to LSU's accelerated program for 2013? The silence is killing me!
Hi!I'm curious do you have to take the HESI entrance exam if you're applying for the Care program? I've just committed to a career change into nursing, so I won't applying until 2014, but I'm just curious on what to expect.
Thanks!
Nope no HESI is needed, but you do need a bachelors degree from an accredited university.
Thanks! I'm a graduate of LSU with Bachelors in Mass Communications and Spanish. So, we're good there.
I did send my unofficial transcript to the Admissions Director, at her request, so she can tell me what I'm lacking.
Just judging by the classes on the website,it looks like all I'd need is a Microbiology class before applying and 1 hr of Bio Lab. I took a 3 hour course in school and passed with a B. All of my grades are A's and B's, so hopefully I'm on good track!.
Mede - YES!!!! If you are placed on the alternate list you still have a great shot. We have several people in our group who were alternates, and one of them got the call literally 30 minutes before orientation started! The program is extremely competitive, and sometimes a fraction of one point separates someone who gets accepted from someone who gets an alternate. It really doesn't reflect on your capabilities or potential at all so don't be discouraged - it's just a numbers game. Good luck!!
Anyone know of what course would be accepted for abnormal psych? I emailed the main contact person and she said that the LSU distance course was not accepted. I'd really like to get it out of the way before the semester starts![/quote']I'd like to know too! My degree is in psychology, so hopefully they accept mine.

No. I didn't have to take it when I applied last fall!
