LSU BSN

Published

Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

Hi everyone! I think my interview went great and i would be really surprised if i didnt get in lol. anouther question i was asked was what would i want to do with nursing? and i told them i would like to go into education! they seemed to be really impressed with that and thats definetly what i want to do! It was really laid back to me, but i wasnt really nervous about it all. anyway best of luck to all of you and i shall return to post my results when i get them!

i was told the hesi exam carries the least weight. So, im guessing that its gpa interview and goal statement paper. konadog05 that would be awesome if we could find out within a week of the interview. yesterday one of the interviewers said end of october but i guess you never know. we all have a pretty good chance if they take 80-100 and there was only 134 applicants. sounds like a good chance if thats the exact numbers. the waiting part sucks!!!!!!!

I'm really worried about my interview.

Do ya'll think that if I didn't do so good in the interview that I still have a good shot at getting in?

I've been out of school for 2 years, I think my GPA is good and my hesi scores were good too...

Thanks

I honestly think you still have a chance. That's why they weight the applicants on so many different things. So if you didn't do so hot on one section, you have other parts of your credentials to fall back on.

I really feel weird about the interview. I made them laugh, I cried, I got tongue tied on all the most important questions, and answered fluently on all the rest. I got a chance to ask the senior ladies who were interviewing me some questions, which was fun :) I waited outside the room for a few minutes and then one of the ladies came out and walked me back to the sign in table and as I thanked her and rambled more she said I did really good, which was kind of her :) I liked the questions, the subject areas weren't surprising but they were still unexpected at the time! I had planned on a few like why nursing, why LSU and those of course were the ones I got all twisted on! The faculty member and the girls during our free chat at the end were all chatting with me about the classes I would take at certain points and the clinicals I'd get to do on the northshore if I'd like since I live there, which provided me with a little hope that I wish wasn't false hope!! The interview lasted almost all of the 30 minutes but it went by really fast except for when I was tripping over my words! Good luck to everyone and I hope all of our mailboxes have a certain acceptance letter in them in a few weeks!!!

I was very nervous also in my interview and was literally shaking when I came out! I wish us all good luck and I am sure we did fine. They prolly expect us to be somewhat nervous. Just remember...at least we had an interview and that is one step closer!

Stay positive :). We've done the best we can and it is out of our hands atm. We just have to wait it out and hope we all get in!

It's only been two days and I am so ready for this wait to be over...

thanks for being so positive Happy!

And mommy2gavnrose... I agree! I'm so ready to just know either way... I really wish I could redo my interview.

good luck ya'll!

we have to wait so long this sucks. maybe since we all did our interview we will know at the latest beginning of november. Im hoping its october when we find out. They are probably looking at all of ours now and making final decisions.

someone should call :)

but really, if we don't know until November, that doesn't give much time to figure out living situations, etc.

yea your right sarjan maybe we will know by the end of october. I already applied to live down there in residence hall.
