LS3 with Saunders

Just curious which units/chapters you who have finished LS3 have used. It helps that the neurological and musculoskeletal have specific chapters but what about the Tissue Trauma? I found quite a bit of the Integumentary section helpful. Thanks in Advance

For the tissue trauma, alot of it is system specific, so for example you may get questions about post op for appendectomy, those interventions would be in the chapters covering the GI system. There is a chapter on Perioperative nursing care, I think it was 19 in my book... and then also there is a chapter that has info biological warfare stuff like anthrax, infection precautions, chapter 16 in my book--Provision of a Safe Environment... check your peds chapters for the poisoning stuff. I honestly can't remember where I saw the emergency triage info, but I know it's there....

Also be current on BLS protocol for this one. I remember having a few questions regarding emergency situations.

What edition are you guys using/used? I found on ebay the 2007 and 2010. does it make a big difference?

I used the 3rd edition for all my exams, I don't think there is too much difference in them except maybe new medications.

I am using the fourth edition. I am going to get the fifth edition when I start preparing for the NCLEX. I am not finding too many significant differences that hinder my performance on the exams by having an older version. I would make sure it has the disc though. The disc is my best friend for practicing the question format. It helped me tremendously on LS1.
