The two basic options are intermittent visits and extended care. Someone I know does intermittent visits and rakes in the money because she works for two agencies and does as many as 13 visits in one day. She says that because of the pay rates, she can make more in four hours of visits than in eight hours of the extended care case that she also works. I think there is too much running around, too much noncompensated work, and too much charting in intermittent visits, so I am content with extended care, although my earnings are limited, particularly because my employer pays such low wages.

is it more than one patient a day? visits? Or is it going to an assigned client and spending an 8 hour shift there?
I am currently a LPN working Private Duty and would like to see if there are some other options out there in home care. I like home care a lot! But I sometimes think I need a new challenge. Thanks for any input!:)
