Hi everyone
I'm thinking about relocating to Atlanta. I am currently living in MD and I work as a LPN. How much does LPN get i paid in atlanta area? How do I go about getting an Atlanta nursing license.

Not much. The nursing homes pay from $11 to $14 ann hour. I'm not to sure about the hospitals. I worked at Children's for a while last year as an LPN (RN now) and the pay was phenomenol! I made more there then than I do as an RN now here in Ohio. Children's of Atlanta pays based on your years and experience. It is an awesome place to work.
Thanks. You got me nervous. I am making 20.50 here in maryland so I dont believe I can take a big pay cut. What are the prices for houses in atlanta/ the fulton county area. Would I survive making even 15/hr.

Fist and least how long have you been a LPN and Second What part of Maryland are you located at the reason I ask is because for quit sometime now my fiance'e and I have been think to ......relocate to another area besides CT even though the pay for an LPN is good $18.00-??? It's getting kinda expensive to live out here...so I'm look for a good state to ......relocate with a good LPN Pay rate...
I live in silver spring, MD. Maryland is a very expensive state too. The LPN pay is good. However, the cost of living is still high. A two bedroom apt cost $1000 or more in a safe area and houses are 300,000+. The Montgomery County area overall is very expensive.
i've been a lpn for almost 3 years

I moved to atlanta in 2000, at that time i had been an LPN for 5years. I went to apply for my first job in atl and was told by the D.O.N that the pay was $12.00 hr. I was floored! I got more than 12.00 as a new grad. She stated that it did not matter how long one had been a nurse, everyone gets the same rate of pay. Here it is 5years later and the pay still hasn't gone up very much. For the past year off and on I have done travel work in Maryland. I have a compact (multi-state) license, so traveling seems to keep me a float. Really consider all your options before relocating.
