LPN wanting to relocate to Charlotte, NC

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hello,

I am an LPN from S.C. who wants to relocate to Charlotte, NC before Christmas. I have applied to all of the nursing homes in the area, including home care agencies and travel agencies as well. I went back through Charlotte again to check on applications and the employers were interviewing other applicants at the present time, and I keep being told that they are not hiring. I do not know what to do in order to get the employers to hire a S.C. applicant. I have detention healthcare, home care, and long-term care experience and I am willing to start work in two weeks after hire. I just have to find a job first so that I can start looking for an apartment in Charlotte. Do anyone have any job leads or tips on how I can get a job offer in Charlotte? Thank you.

Have you tried Bayada Nurses? They're a nationwide home health company that specializes mainly in trach/vent and they usually have openings in the Charlotte area, especially if you have any peds experience.

It's not because you live in SC. I heard from a nurse that just got hired in Charlotte and she said half of the nurse at her orientation are from out of state and each of them had years of experience in the field they were hired.

So you are competing with nurses from all over the country not just those in Charlotte.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I already talked to someone from Bayada Nurses and they do not have anything full-time right away. I know that nurses who have med/surg or hospital experience will likely receive priority over those of us who only have nursing home experience. I have decided to just stay where I am for right now. So much for the nursing shortage...

Specializes in Oncology, Home Health.

We are currently looking for a full time nurse for our home health ageny and I don't know exactly what area that person would be covering but If you live in charlotte you could do the denver area or huntersville areas and they would be happy!!! Lake Norman Home Health www.lnrmc.com and go under careers.

Thank you for the info. I have decided to move to Jacksonville, Fl. I already have someone I can move in with so that I will have a Florida address.
