Yes, mine is 2 for 1 too! I was an LPN for 10 years, they started me as a R.N. with 5 years of experience. It made a significant difference in my pay too! It infuriates me that some of these places don't want to acknowledge all the wonderful experience we had as L.P.N.'s!:angryfire
I can tell you, I have been a R.N. for 5 years now, and my job IS NOT that much different than it was as an LPN. There are a few things I can do now that I couldn't do as a RN, but overall I do the same job! The main difference I see, is in my paycheck!
Good Luck!

Hi,
At my hospital when an employed LPN gets her RN. She does not retain any of her seniority. Keeps her vacation and sick time. But then for unit and hospital seniority she is back at the bottom of the totem pole.
It just seems so unfair.
Our union wants to address this issue on the next contract.
So I was hoping people out there have dealt with this issue and have some ideas to share.
I have heard that some facilities give you one year or RN seniority for every 2 years as an LPN.
What is the practice at your facility?
Thank you in advance.
