Hi. I start at Clover Park Tech in a week and a half!!!!:yeah::no::confused:

I am curious about others who got their LPN at a tech school and how the schedules were/are? We attend class 8-3:30 M-F until clinicals start, and then that sched on Mondays and clinical shifts T-F.

Sound similar to anyone? How was the daily schedule set up? How many hours in lab? Any study or group times scheduled in or is it only lecture and lab??

I am sooooo excited and my mind keeps trying to imagine it all! :p The closer I get the more antsy I get!!

I'm at Everest Career Training Institute. The LPN program is a year long, 3 15-week terms with a 2-week break between terms. Classes are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with a 1-hour lunch break. Level 1 starts long-term care clinicals in week 4 or 5, on Thursdays and Fridays. Level 2 starts med/surg clinicals in week 2 on Mondays and Tuesdays. I'm not sure which days Level 3 has clinicals, but they're 2 days a week, starting in week 2. Labs are either 2 or 4 hours depending on the content, and each class is divided into 2 groups for lab. For example, last week we had a med pass lab one afternoon. We all had class from 8-12, then Group B had lab from 1-3 and Group A had lab from 3-5. Each level also has SSP ("student success program") one afternoon a week. SSP is an optional 4-hour block when you can make up missed class time, practice lab skills, get one-on-one tutoring with instructors, study with other students, and re-take exams if necessary (if you fail an exam here you're allowed to retake an alternate exam to bring your score up to 75, the minimum passing score).

Too much info?

I would ask , what is group A or B doing while the other is in lab -aside from the one afternoon a week SSP?...or is it the clinicals? Thanks!

The opposite group doesn't have to do anything during that time. I use the time to study or run errands, but if my group goes first I usually go straight home after lab.
