Hello everyone! I am at the end of two programs ekg tech and phlebotomy. I was considering going back to school for LPN but those programs are being cut out from all the state schools in CT. My alternative is Surgical Technician. What do you think about the Surgical Technician program? Do they get paid the shift differentials as well as everyone else and do they wsork weekends? Please provide feedback! Thank you

Hi,
My friend just graduated from a surg tech program (in NJ) It took her about 7months to land a job and she works at a small hospital in NJ, works weekends and the nights shifts. I think the money is decent. She is paid a little more for nights and weekend shifts. Shes hoping to land the day shift sometime. Hope this helps!

My cousin is a surg tech and an LPN and she makes $15 per hour base and anywhere from $1.50 to $3 per hour shift diff for nights and weekends. I believe she works 3 12 hour shifts a week. She works in labor/delivery and I believe her program took a year. We are in FL by the way. Good luck and hope this helps
