Hi everyone, I'm very new to this so please be patient with me lol. I'm starting my lpn program October 5th and my orientation is September 29th. I have never been more excited about anything in my life. I was wondering if there's anyone who is currently in the program or a recent graduate who would care to discuss your experiences. I would also like for future lpn students like myself to chime in so we could keep up with each others progress and individual experience as well. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Hello. I started the LPN program in May. I have finals next week for pharm 2 and nur 104. A few words of advice. It is very time consuming. As long as you have extra support you will be fine.

I was thinking about either starting a blog to document my journey through the whole program or creating a vlog on youtube. I'm not sure if many people would watch but I think it would at least help someone out who's looking for a bit of information on the lpn program.

Good luck to you! I graduate October 9th. I am beyond ready. Just remember to take it one day at a time and for the next year focus on your studies. Flash cards was a big help and constantly review because you want everything to be put into your long term memory.

Hi !

I have been an lvn (in CA, *LPN in most states) for almost 6 years, and currently in an lvn-RN bridge program. It has been a great career so far. I see that you have been a CNA, and it's definitely a big advantage that you have that experience going into LPN school.

I went to a private school for 20 months (part time program). School was very fast paced and it involves alot of self studying.

I would definitely recommend practicing ALOT of nclex questions because most of you quizzes and exams are nclex-style type of questions.

Definitely look into getting your RN once you get your lpn though, as it will open up more broad opportunities for you ;)

Hello, I just graduated from my PN program Friday September 18. I went to a private school because the wait lists are long at traditional colleges. My program was 12 months long. The prereqs are built into that 12 months, so the only requirement you need to start the program is an active CNA cert and pass the entrance HESI which is similar to teas.

My program didnt accept financial aid so we were busting our asses trying to work/go to school/study and it was almost too much to take. We had class twice a week and clinicals/lab once a week. It was a fast paced program so we had to dedicate ALOT of time outside of class to studying.

I have two little boys and sometimes they would be like mom, we never see you anymore. I had to cut out all of my social life. Careplans were the worst, so i suggest you get a careplan book off amazon, and a med book. I tried studying ahead of time just to stay caught up but some times id feel lost. Med/surg was the worst but it kinda tied everything together.

This was my third attempt at nursing school, the first two times i was being lazy and dropped out so this time i wasnt allowing myself any excuses, i had to finish one way or another and i did. Im glad i did cause now i have opened more opportunities for myself and i proved to myself and the nay sayers that i am capable of finishing anything i set out to accomplish.

School will get hard, and sometimes you will feel like pulling your own hair out but sont give up, stick with it, take it one day at a time. Look up definitions to things you dont know, ask help for things you dont understand, and dont be hars on yourself if you come across things you dont know, cause thats the point of school to teach us what we dont know.

I will be starting the LPN program at a local technical college hopefully in November! I'm currently on the waiting list, however the advisor believes I'm high enough on the list to start with the next class! :) I'm so excited! I want this more than anything! I'm currently enrolled in fast track CNA course and once I finish that in a few weeks, I plan on taking the course to get certified as a Home Health Aide!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give a quick update about where I'm at with school. I officially start classes on Monday and I am so excited. I have my exam dates, clinical schedule, books, supplies and everything I need to make it a successful year. I start clinicals in my third week so that's exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. I just want to be good at what I do. I wish everyone luck on their journey and I'll update you guys again soon.

Hi, I have graduated as an LPN from Chicago last month. And let me just say it was harder than I imagined! But I am so proud of myself and my classmates for going through it all the way! It was hard at times and we wanted to quit many times! But really being able to talk to each other and ask each other questions about the material helped. I am scheduled to take my NCLEX-PN exam the 26th and can't wait to be able to work as a nurse and have the title of LPN! :) Good luck to all of you future LPN students, stay strong, be positive and don't look back....our future has just begun! :)
