Hi, I have been an LPN for 16+ years. Prior to that I was a HR manager at a large company in NYC, prior to that I was a corporate trainer for Home Depot. Our SNF/LTC is beyond short staffed. In fact, our local hospitals are hiring LPNs for all units now. Out of 9 applicants 7 RNs 2 LPNs I was picked to become the new SDC. I had been a Unit Manager, and 3-11 supervisor for several years. They took in my years of HR, and corporate training in account. So, for the LPNs out there thinking they cannot move up the ladder it is NOT the case in NC. The response from staff has been overwhelmingly positive.
Would love to hear from LPN/LVNs that have moved up the ladder.
