LPN School: How Many Hours Did You Study Per Day?

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

I am starting LPN school next week, and I am constantly told that it will be extremely time-consuming. The LPNs I know told me that they studied between 3 to 6 hours per day, so I was wondering if that is approximately the same amount of hours that you LPNs/LVNs studied while in nursing school. Also, did you study more during the clinical part of the program than during the lecture part? Thank you.

i think i have a "see it, remember it" mind. When taking tests, I can see the pages of my notes where the information is, in my head.

I am exactly like that! I am an auditory learner but I reinforce it with "seeing" it in my head! When I got stuck on a test question, I could close my eyes and "see" the page that the info was on (i normally didn't read the text, just skimmed it, went to lecture and then the day before the test I'd grab my book where I highlighted info and just look it over quickly) or if I didn't recall highlighting it in the book, I could close my eyes and "see" the teacher the day of that particular lecture, what she was wearing, how she moved about the room, where she was when she said the material I was stuck on and 9 times out of 10 I could "hear" her saying the info. Its kind of cool when I think about it. Kind of like a photographic memory with a "radio station" piping in the info in the background. :D
