LPN school changed minimum grade

When I signed my enrollment agreement with my school, they had a minimum grade of a C listed for all course work including transfers. Now, they changed the minimum grade to a B. All of my grades are up above an 80 but what if ones falls to a 79? I fail and have to take it over again? Has anyone experienced this with their school? Could I fight this in the future if need be? I'm not currently in nursing classes as I'm finishing my pre req's at a local college.

Thanks.

I would just work extra hard, nursing school is way different from other classes... not to scare you but I know A students who became B,C, and D students once they got in nursing school. Just work hard and study hard and you should be fine. Our minimum is a 75 anything 74.99999 is failing, and yes its written just like this in the syllabus. Good luck you can Do it!

our program has an 80 minimum as well, except in our nursing program an 80 is a C, and a 79.9 is a D and failing. Maybe somewhere along the way the communication lines got tangled? In my school, an 80 is a B, BUT in my NURSING program, its a C. See what I mean?

Its tough, but there's a reason its tough. I can guarantee that NOBODY who does not want this with all of their being, can get through my program. Look at it as just a challenge and aim for a 90, then you'll know you'll always get atleast an 80. Of course, that attitude has me halfway through a program when half of our students have failed, but 20 lbs heavier, acne for the first time in YEARS, cranky, filthy house, and stressed out of my gord... but I'm making it. :)

I believe that the school can change their grade requirements when they like to, as hard as that can be. And in most cases, they round DOWN rather than round UP, so, yes, a 79.999%=failure. My school was even worse, because yes, they would make the student retake the course, but the second time, they had to earn 5 grade points higher. We were able to pass with C+, which equated to about a 75 average, but if you were a repeater, then, you had to earn an 80% average. And, if you fail two classes, you are out...period.

But what I want to know is this; are they asking that you have a minimal grade of B for ENTRANCE into the program or maintain a B once IN the program? We had to have at least a 3.5 GPA to be accepted (B) but once accepted in, they accepted C+ as passing grade, so, a person can go to the next semester.
