im an IEN but also a landed immigrant here in calgary, AB. i already sent my application to carna and they said my requirements are complete and i just have to wait for further instructions by mail. i heard that it takes a year for assessment to be finished and that is a long time. so, i have been considering challenging the LPN exam.
I dont know if its worth the risk (challenging the exam), if i get into LPN will my application to CARNA still be valid?
How long will it get me to be an LPN?
i kept on thinking if taking LPN might be a waste of money cause maybe anytime CARNA will instruct me to take the SEC then study. What if both requires me to do something at the same time.
Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.
Your application to RN should not be affected if applying for PN at the same time. I am not sure on processing times for PN but you may find it takes a few months because you trained outside Canada
should i consider taking lpn though? i honestly lack experience and im very aware that health care here is different from the philippines. i am good with theories and concepts and seems like LPN is more on skills.
