Hello,
I currently live in New York and am hoping to finish up an LPN program in one year. From there, I would be interested in moving/working in PA--preferably in or near Scranton. Are there any schools around there that offer an LPN to RN program? How good is the school and how long is the program? Any info at all would be really helpful. Thank you in advance. :)

I'm not an LPN, but I'm graduating from Penn State Worthington-Scranton (in Dunmore PA) in May and lots of my classmates are LPNs. The program is two years, but LPNS can challenge fundamentals, peds, and OB so you could potentially get your RN in two semesters!
I'm not 100% sure what the process is for LPNs but if you contact the school someone will be more than happy to help you out.
Also, our program is very well-respected in the area and our NCLEX pass rate is somewhere in the 90's I believe. It's a small program where you really get to know your instructors and there's always someone around to help you when you need it. If you need any more info let me know! Here's a link to the program website:

luzerne county community college its in nanticoke PA. THey have a LPN to RN program where you are basically gaurentted a spot. It will probably take your around 2 years and you will be a RN. You wont have a BSN though just the RN liscence basically. Its a good program, i am trying to get into now but theres sooo many people trying to get in there isnt enough spots but being a LPN youll have a spot. It cost around 2 grand a semester to go there. I know people who have done that program and they say it is hard but a good program very hands on and you learn alot but to make sure all your pre reqs are out of the way before you start nursing classes because you dont want to be taking a&p while taking a 9 credit clinical course , its just to hard plus if you are working or have children it is even harder to balance all that so just lan your classes out right. Plus if you happen to fail a pre req course while in the nursing program you are out of the nursing program so deffintely take thoes classs before your actual nursing classes. Most of their clinical work is done at a local hospital i think it is wilkes barre general and they have a brand new huge nursing building coming soon. I would defifntely look into lccc especially since you are and LPN already and you will have a spot int he nursing program which is a good one from what i hear frome everyone i talk to. Oh and you wont have to take the NET or DET test to get into the program from what i hear which is a big weight off someones shoulders because thoes tests suck...email jennifer vangilder who is the gen ed health science counsler at lccc she might be able to help you her email is [email protected]

LCCC in Nanticoke will let you bridge. You basically take a test to get out of the first semester of their program.
