LPN to Rn online

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am currently an LPN. Through Excelsior College I am working on receiving my RN license. Becoming a NICU nurse is a life time dream of mine and I will stop at nothing to accomplish this. I read this forum almost everyday, and I'm doing independant studying on NICU nursing. I respect all of you nurses out there and hope to one day be a part of your team. Here is my question. Do you think receiving my RN through an online program will make it more difficult out there? Or do you feel that you learned to be a good NICU nurse through the hands on training you received once you were hired? Has anyone worked with a nurse that has done the LPN to RN transition program? I want to be the best that I can be and provide my patients with the outstanding care that they deserve.

BTW, I worked in the open heart unit after receiving my ASN from EC, and there are a few grads here who work in the NICU now, if I'm not mistaken.

Here's a sticky that will give you an idea of what kinds of jobs EC grads are currently working in.
