Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good on-line college for someone who is an LPN and wants to work towards the RN? I have just heard about this and I'm very interested. Thanks.

Excelsior College offers an LPN-to-RN associate's degree program that is distance-based. Indiana State University offers an LPN-to-RN bachelor's degree program that is also distance-based. Deaconess is another distance program that offers an LPN-to-RN program.
Beware of institutions such as the College Network and RUE. The College Network and RUE are nothing more than overpriced publishing companies that sell materials that will eventually lead to a degree from Excelsior or Indiana State. You can complete the degree without ever needing to go through a publishing company. Good luck!
Thanks, "TheCommuter". Are you thinking about doing it? ec
First of all, I am originally from California. A degree from Excelsior College is not accepted by the California board of registered nursing, which would be bad news if I ever wanted or needed to return to my home state.
Secondly, these distance nursing programs tend to be very expensive. I'll attempt to gain acceptance into an affordable LVN-to-RN program at one of the local community colleges.
Finally, I am the type of student who learns best kinesthetically and visually. I need to be in a traditional brick-and-mortar classroom. I am not good at conjuring up the motivation to teach myself a new subject independently with no help from instructors or classmates.
