Helene Fuld classroom environment and commute

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Posting because most of the threads on HF are years old. Just got my Teas 6 results and I passed! Waiting my admissions packet. Was wondering if anyone can share their experience about the school? How were the classmates? Did you make any friends during the program or was everyone competitive and only stuck to themselves? My commute is about 1hr 30min tops. How do you think that would affect me? Was the school helpful in getting jobs? I've heard it's hard for ARN to find jobs these days without connections. Any other info about your experience is much appreciated

I'm assuming from the date that you got your letter!!! I attend Helene also, and I just started in August and this is my 1st semester. How are you doing with the classes?

I actually didn't get my letter yet. Still waiting. I took my test a week ago and checked my scores online and saw that I met the passing requirement. How long did it take before your letter came in? Are you on the ARN program? How is your experience there so far?

I never got a letter, I was so confused to why I didn't get a letter, and so I emailed the recruiter ally and she told me to call ASAP to register because it had begun already, and so that's what I did, they really can forget you, so I learned my lesson and call or go to them for everything because I almost missed my chance. I'm in the ADN program 18months and the school isn't bad at all, the classmates are super friendly and helpful, right now I'm in my 1st semester, are you starting in February?

Thank you so much! I waited a week before my exam I hope it's not to late. I'm going to email and call them first thing Monday. Yes I'll be starting in February. I'll be going for the ADN program as well. How are your classmates? I wasn't too fond of the people in my LPN program. Not very helpful and very competitive.

Did you take the chem and math courses? I was thinking of trying for the challenge exam but I feel like it's too good to be true and they might make it harder just to get more money out of the students

I think registration is the week of 28th of January, the chem class was so damn hard :( because we had a horrible prof, but if you have Dr Paul, he is the BEST!!! The prof I had I don't think he is no longer there, so no worries! Lol and as far as the classmates, honestly I feel the ones I came across are so nice and helpful, it's like we all know this is hard and we aiming for the same thing! People have group chats in the class, everybody was exchanging numbers, just to help each other out, taking psy and sociology now

I did send an email and I plan on going there tomorrow morning to speak to them. Thank you so much for posting. I'd have never known! Did you work as an LPN before starting your classes there? I think it's great that everyone was willing to help one another. I'm hoping that I do get to meet some great people and hopefully have long lasting friends. I'm working as an LPN right now I do wish I had some close nurse friends to share and vent about my day. I'm alittle excited and also scared about starting. It's going to be tough and my entire life for a year will be studying and working hard. It will definitely not be fun

Your welcome!! Yes I have been an LPN for quite some time, goodness, I work at a nursing home. Did you take the writing test or just the teas?

And do you have to take any pre-requisites at Helene?

I only took the Teas. I didn't hear about any writing test. The school has been pretty unhelpful with information about starting the program. I emailed them and they responded saying I would get the admissions packet after the holidays and that the official classes start feb 4th I was hoping they'd tell me the times and days for the pre req classes so I could organize my work schedule around it. But the person just said to wait for the packet. Also they didn't say anything about the challenege exam so when I called and asked today they told me it's on the 21st. Which is too late to study for now. So I'll prob be taking chem math and the nursing skills class now. Did you start the program in feb as well? If so do you know how the class schedule is for the pre reqs?

Yea they don't tell you much, but they will have orientation and you can ask all the questions, I started in August, I can send you the schedule for February, it was emailed to current students, we just don't know the professor, registration doesn't start until the ending of January so that's why they are mailing packets then

Oh yes! If you could send the schedule that would be great! I'm just afraid of not getting the admissions packet and losing my place. I guess I'll just have to wait until after the holidays before I start harassing them again lol

Hey there

I sent you a PM with my email address.
