Lpn to Rn lets stay motived!!

Published

Hello I'm new to this online community for nurses. I'm currenty studying for my RN using TCN materials. I've already taken 4 test but I had stoppeed studing back in Feb-March of this year. I have recently started back studing this month, plus I dont want to be wasting all that money for nothing. I must stay motived, I'm a single parent of a 6 year, I work first shift and can study at night when he's settled and in the bed. Really there's no excuss for stopping again. Going on campus isnt a opption for me this is a great way for me to reach my goal. Is there anyone else like me that needs alittle help staying movited? and what your you currenty studying? My next text will be introduction to computing, I plan on testing on it by the end of the month.

When I'm complete with my preq. I will be applying to Indaina State University's RN BSN program.

Cant you Clep it?

hey, just an fyi for info lit...we don't have to take it thru ec, we can do penn foster which costs like $90...takes a couple hours or so. just email your ec advisor and tell them that's what you want to do and they'll email you back the okay. then you call pf and they get you registered. when you finish, just call them back and they forward transcripts to you and to ec...i haven't done it yet, but one of these days, when i got nothing better to do i will! that's a savings of what, about $200? i love it!

I did it online via Excelsior.

Take some motivation in this: I'm now an RN, in LTC, doing pretty much exactly what I did as an LPN, for $5.50 more an hour.

:)

And I get a lot more respect. It's really amazing. Not necessarily correct - I work with some excellent LPNSs - but I like it.

Specializes in 5yrs LPN , 2 yrs CNA.

I"m so excited to be an Rn....I like being an lpn but you do get more respect and more money as an Rn. and money is a great motivater...hehe...Sue how long did it take you to take the 7 nurse classes?
