LPN-RN cost

For the RNs who started as LPNs, how much was your LPN-RN program? I was accepted into a bridge program but it seems expensive to me, as it is more expensive than my LPN program was, but it has been years since I did the LPN program. Just trying to gauge what the average price is.

I started as an LPN in 1992 - I immediately went back to school and became an RN in 1994.

However, in between we moved across the country and the wait list for the LPN to ADN program was very long at the state (read cheaper option) schools. So - I went to a private school where there was no waiting list and spent a lot of money on 3 semesters. Yes, it was expensive but it was oh so worth it.

I would look to your state funded schools first. The only reason I went the private school route was because my husband was in the USAF and we kept moving every 2 years so I really needed a quick option

I've seen it from a little under 10k to over 30k. Look at the cost of the program and how long it will take you to make up by your increase in wages. If it will only take you a couple of years to pay it back, I'd call it worthwhile.

Ten years ago I paid about 1500 for my LPN program. My LPN to BSN program is going to be about 17k for tuition, books, fees, and uniforms. That does not include the cost of my 2 years of prerequisites. I live in Oklahoma (if that helps).
