LPN to RN Bridge?

Published

Okay everyone, here's my problem.....I have a 3.67 GPA (weighted), got a decent TEAS score (85.3) and want to get into my school's ADN/BSN concurrent program BUT it is so competitive people are waiting like 2 years to get in. The director told me her self they had 300 applicants for 80 spots. Of those 300, 150 were category one (GPA 3.0 or higher and prereqs completed) as am I. The people that got the 80 spots for January start of 2009 had finished prereqs Spring of 2007 or earlier. SO here's my question...do I apply for LPN and do the 12 month program and then the bridge to RN? Is anyone else in the same boat? I am so frustrated!!!! Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!!

I'm in a similar situation. I have a BA degree in computers with a high GPA, and I've been trying to decide if I should go LVN vs the RN/ABSN programs becuase Its so competitive, I feel so frustrated!! I've even traveled two states over to look at a private RN program at ITT tech, but decided I can't leave my family to do the program for 2 years and 50k. so yes, I'm right there with you girl.

Oh thank goodness!! I live in FL (central FL). There is a dirct entry PA program in Miami . All of my nursing pre reqs are all you need to have to get into this PA program-amazing, right? My husband was laid off in March ( 6 figure salary gone overnight) and I stay at home with our two small kids, so I am really frustrated! My friend's husband is trying to convince me to do pharmacy ( he is a dr. of pharmacy) but that is 5 more prereqs!!! ALL CHEM!!!!! UGH....Kelli
