Just looking for any pros or cons for attending an lpn program at a traditional college or vocational school? Any opinions would be really appreciated.
TIA

Tanya,(I love your name!)
I can't stand sinus infections! I'm not a moody person but they are the one thing that makes me grouchy! I hope you start to feel better once the meds kick in! Yeah, I'm sure we will feel like pincushions when all is said and done, lol! I had the chicken pox bad as a kid, so I'll be all set with that. I think I had my tetorifice @ my last dr.s visit. Unfortunately, not really sure about the rest of my immunizations we moved around a lot when I was a kid and my records kinda are everywhere, lol. I know I have to start the Hep B right away.
That would be great to sit together @ orientation, it'll be nice to have another "older" face close by, lol! Hey, I did check the profile page thing today after I got your email. I didn't know I could do that...technology.
Looking forward to meeting you and for an exciting year of nursing school together!

Me too - I would love to meet for coffee as well but the orientation day won't work. I have to drop the kids at my sisters and pick them up right after to get them home to bed. Going to Quincy is going to get old very fast I think. But let's plan something once we get our schedules and everything. We can commiserate :wink2:
BTW, didn't get the meds. They don't think it is sinus infection - so just Flonase for now. It isn't like my usual sinus infections so I wasn't surprised. I guess there are some really nasty viruses out there right now. They all seem to find me lately.
I wonder what happens when we get sick once we start school. Drug up and bear it I guess. It will be weird to not just "call in" like I did when I was working. I've been worried about summer classes. I have two vacations planned and payed for so I'm pretty sure I will miss some class time. My August vacation is a full week and is right around what I think will be finals :zzzzz I hope I can work something out with the instructor or I will have to travel back from ME for the test.
Believe me, I understand the whole thing about not having any "me" time, lol, I have kids too! I agree, I think we might find it a little difficult going to school and still being mommy and all that comes with that, but we'll muddle through, lol! Oh, I just assumed they put you on meds, hope the flonase works soon. Yeah, if we get sick during school, for me it will kinda be better than being home, I can just "grin & bear it" but I won't be waiting on other people all day while not feeling well!! My family doesn't think mom is ever sick enough not to do everything for them.
Where are you going on vacation? I only have a camping trip planned as of right now, I think at Salisbury Beach.
Donna
I know exactly what you mean - I hate being sick because somehow no one takes it seriously. Husband included LOL!
I am going to Florida in June with my sister and our oldest kids and then my entire family is going to Point Sebago in Maine the first week of August. We haven't gone camping as a family yet so it should be interesting. Of course, it is "camping" in a trailer so I should be able to handle it. The kids are not old enough to handle sleeping in tents and I don't want to cook for 5 with only a grill and a fire :wink2:
I have a sick kid home today so I have officially passed it along. And this is my grouchy kid so she will be even less happy than normal (did that make sense?).
Have a great day.
Those sound like great plans. My parents live in FL, so I wish I were going there! We don't do the tent thing either, it's too hard with little ones. We have an RV and we use that to go "camping"! Last year, we had my sister-in-law & family up to Salisbury Beach & that was roughing it for her, I laughed my butt off, if she only knew tent camping! I hope your little one feels better. What classes if any are you planning on taking over the summer?
Definitely A&P I if I can get it. I really would like to get that out of the way to lessen the workload in Sept. If I can get a College Math I will take that as well. I'm pretty good at math but without a refresher course, I'm afraid to try to CLEP out. I took this years ago but QC won't accept the credits :zzzzz
How about you?
My SIL has an RV too! They are also going to Point Sebago this summer. Actually about 35 people from my husbands family are going. Could be fun - could be a nightmare LOL! Still, there will be lots of "cousins" for my kids to play with and many adult eyes so we can all watch each others kids - any extra support is great.
Where in FL are your parents? Did they retire to FL? My sister has a place in Punta Gorda so we are going down to Tampa for a day (Busch Gardens) and then we will drive to her house to relax in the extremely hot June sun LOL!
I'm going to try to get A&P out of the way, and I was thinking I too might be able to take on Math over the summer, as I'm pretty good at Math. I'm shocked that QC won't accept your math credits, I thought it was science that had a timeframe limit?
That sounds like an awesome time you guys will have! It certainly is great when the kids have cousins to play with, and extra adult eyes are always welcomed!
My mother moved to Ocklawaha, it's just outside of Ocala. My father moved to Lakeland. They're divorced and both remarried. No they didn't move their to retire. My father's wife's mother & ailing father moved there, so they followed. And my godmother begged my mom to move there and so they did. It worked out well, my godmother got cancer and my mom was able to take her to the dr.s and stuff and basically be there with her until the end. They have been best friends since I was born. She did pass on December 28th. Anyway enough of that. My parents & their spouses will be coming to MA in June when my daughter Tia graduates from H.S. So that will be great! Have a great day, it's supposed to be really nice out today!
