Any Blue hills tech & Massasoit Community College Grads or current Nursing Students?
Quincy doesn't have interviews, as it is enrollment on a rolling basis. So I knew I was in pretty quickly, about a week I think. If you're starting in September, you have plenty of time to apply for loans, but I would apply for the FAFSA anyway & put down your schools that you are considering. That will get the ball rolling :) Best of luck! :)

Quincy College LPN Sept 2010
Hi Marie, Congrats on your acceptance into the fall program. I am in the full-time days program @ QC. The clinicals so far have been 7-3 Mondays and Wednesdays. I've had rotations @ VA Hospital in Brockton and currently @ Sinai in Stoughton, there are some clinical sites in Waltham, W. Roxbury, Quincy, Roslindale, Plymouth, Brockton, and not sure where else of the top of my head. Your class schedule will depend on if you have taken any other courses prior to starting. I want to go into the RN program also, so I took the regular A&P I, II and labs prior to starting the program. I also took Math prior and had Psychology credits applied from previous college attendance. I think it made it a little more manageable for me. Hope this helps :) Good luck!!

That's great! I got accepted to Quincy College for Sept. 09 LPN Program. I called Blue Hills the other day and they are still accepting new applicants, so I'll probably test there as well seeing that I already submitted and paid my application fee. I'm going to orientation today and will find out more about QC. I'm so excited too, either way I'll be in a program in September.

Tanya, are you thinking of switching to the RN program? I noticed that they have opened the list until April 15th.

LPN Program -Traditional College or Voc/Tech School?
I'm going to try to get A&P out of the way, and I was thinking I too might be able to take on Math over the summer, as I'm pretty good at Math. I'm shocked that QC won't accept your math credits, I thought it was science that had a timeframe limit? That sounds like an awesome time you guys will have! It certainly is great when the kids have cousins to play with, and extra adult eyes are always welcomed! My mother moved to Ocklawaha, it's just outside of Ocala. My father moved to Lakeland. They're divorced and both remarried. No they didn't move their to retire. My father's wife's mother & ailing father moved there, so they followed. And my godmother begged my mom to move there and so they did. It worked out well, my godmother got cancer and my mom was able to take her to the dr.s and stuff and basically be there with her until the end. They have been best friends since I was born. She did pass on December 28th. Anyway enough of that. My parents & their spouses will be coming to MA in June when my daughter Tia graduates from H.S. So that will be great! Have a great day, it's supposed to be really nice out today!

LPN Program -Traditional College or Voc/Tech School?
Those sound like great plans. My parents live in FL, so I wish I were going there! We don't do the tent thing either, it's too hard with little ones. We have an RV and we use that to go "camping"! Last year, we had my sister-in-law & family up to Salisbury Beach & that was roughing it for her, I laughed my butt off, if she only knew tent camping! I hope your little one feels better. What classes if any are you planning on taking over the summer?

LPN Program -Traditional College or Voc/Tech School?
Believe me, I understand the whole thing about not having any "me" time, lol, I have kids too! I agree, I think we might find it a little difficult going to school and still being mommy and all that comes with that, but we'll muddle through, lol! Oh, I just assumed they put you on meds, hope the flonase works soon. Yeah, if we get sick during school, for me it will kinda be better than being home, I can just "grin & bear it" but I won't be waiting on other people all day while not feeling well!! My family doesn't think mom is ever sick enough not to do everything for them. Where are you going on vacation? I only have a camping trip planned as of right now, I think at Salisbury Beach. Donna

Tanya,(I love your name!) I can't stand sinus infections! I'm not a moody person but they are the one thing that makes me grouchy! I hope you start to feel better once the meds kick in! Yeah, I'm sure we will feel like pincushions when all is said and done, lol! I had the chicken pox bad as a kid, so I'll be all set with that. I think I had my tetorifice @ my last dr.s visit. Unfortunately, not really sure about the rest of my immunizations we moved around a lot when I was a kid and my records kinda are everywhere, lol. I know I have to start the Hep B right away. That would be great to sit together @ orientation, it'll be nice to have another "older" face close by, lol! Hey, I did check the profile page thing today after I got your email. I didn't know I could do that...technology. Looking forward to meeting you and for an exciting year of nursing school together! Donna:)

Thanks, no I didn't get a note then again I didn't know I could check my profile page either, lol. I'm glad I mentioned it to you, I think it's mandatory! Yes, I just came back from the Dr.s trying to set up for Titer and immunizations. After 6 kids, shots are a breeze lol! What's your first name?

I was going to wait 1 more day before calling. My son called me and asked if I had heard anything, I told him no, not yet. I went and checked the mail when I got off the phone with him and lo & behold, there was an envelope from QC! I was sooo nervous, I almost didn't want to open it, lol. But I did, and you were right, I did get in!!!:yeah:So do you have to attend the same orientation that I do on March 24th 4-6? I am so excited!!! Donna

Thanks for the info. That does make sense. I still haven't received an acceptance letter from QC yet I am just about positive I will go there if I get accepted. I have spoken with a few people and their opinions are that I should attend QC as well. I would like to pursue the RN further down the road. Hopefully, I'll hear soon. Donna
