I am an LPN looking to also do Paramedic work. Do I still have to go through paramedic school to do this?

Also, what nurse relies on the doctor during an emergency? You don't call before you initiate CPR or any other life saving interventions for that matter. You tell the doctor after and as long as you are competent and following your training.

Sorry, the "you are responsible for acutely ill patients and the doctors rely on YOUR assessment " was derogatory and rubbed me the wrong way.

Ps. Try being responsible for 30 skilled patients with dementia, 20 of which are diabetics with 4RBGs qday and 4 are vent/trach patients. LPNs are just as badass as any other medical professional and although I will be going back this year for my RN I am proud of where I started.

OK now im done ranting. ?

How would you feel about a paramedic asking if they could become an LPN without any nursing school?

Also, starting CPR before the doctor arrives is very different than operating off protocol in a prehospital environment. A large portion of paramedic school is learning those protocols and treatment plans. The OP thought (2 years ago) that they could just skip that over because.....why?
