Hi. I'm not sure where to post this or if it has been asked before. I am trying to decide whether to pursue my LPN then transition to RN or become a paramedic then an RN (both of which programs are available in my area). I currently work at a hospital as a pct but if I become an LPN, will not be able to be hired at my current place because they are no longer hiring LPNs. Does anyone have an opinion on the best route to take. (I am not going directly to RN primarily due to economic factors.) Thank you for your input.

im a EMT-P and i must say most programs dont really accept paramedic to RN... unless u want to pursue the fire dept paramedic is not worth it.. where as LPN at least you start learning basics and some of the meds etc.. also there are a lot more programs from lpn to rn than paramedic..Paramedic is PREHOSPITAL care.. i believe nursing is acute care or inhospital care.. all in all i would think LVN to RN is a much SMOOTHER transition.. hope that helps.. if i could go back .. i would have been a LVN to RN =)
