LPN Moving to Southern California

Published

Hello Everyone,

I have been a LPN for 3 years with little to NO experience. I currently live in South Florida and I HATE it! I finally decided on living in Cali. I just recently sent my application for endorsement for my license, so now I'm just playing the waiting game. I am thinking about staying in Burbank, California but I am open to any other suggestions. I wanted to know if I will be able to find work in California with NO work experience, even though I've been licensed for some time. PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Thanks 😀

San Bernardino county (approx 1 hr from LA) have a lot of SNF/ ALF, and they usually hire new grads. Good luck

You may, or may not, be able to find work in a timely manner. Remember you will be competing with the scores of new grads that are regularly pumped out by the CA LVN schools to be found on almost every city block in the area, as well as all the out of work experienced LVN's who have not been able to find work, or enough work, for varying periods of time. Highly suggest that you wait on the move until you have a job lined up, or come prepared with a great deal of savings to tide you over until you find work.

THIS. Although finding a job before moving is difficult in itself as the majority of places that hire LVNs do it the old fashioned way with a paper application directly to the person doing the hiring. Large health systems will have online applications, but for LVN jobs especially, online applications are in the minority.
