My husband is moving to London for a job promotion. He works for HCA. I’ve been working as an LVN for four years and about 12 years experience as an aide before that. Currently enrolled in the US and perusing my RN here. I am finding it difficult to figure out how my college transfers transfer and don’t understand some of the things needed for college. Tariff points or A levels? We will be there at least five years. What are the odds of me completing this in London as an American? I feel like I have ten hoops to jump through. Will any college except me more than others or is there a way to use my experience and do something I hear is called an apprenticeship? I've contemplated staying in the US over this because I want to complete my education. While in London I will not have to work and can dedicate time to persue, but is this worth it or do I just accept I’ll have to stay at home??
Thanks!

Have you contacted the NMC?

Try contacting them directly to see how you stand as an LVN.
As for continung your education, try to directly contact the nursing faculty of a university near your husbands work. You say he's moving to London so that gives you more scope. For example:

Can the American University of London help you in continuing your US studies?

To be honest, London is a fantastic city to experience (I lived there for 16 years). In addition the experience of going to live in another country and broadening your horizons is totally enriching (I moved from the UK to France). Personally I wouldn't miss out on this opprtunity for the world. Is it out of the question to put your studies on hold? Will you be in London long enough to contemplate doing British RN training from scratch?
Good luck whatever you decide.
