LPN/LVN rate of pay in your area.

This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)

Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?

Just starting my first LPN job here in MI at LTCF and my starting pay is $21.50/hr.

$21.50 for LTCF is awesome. I am interested in LTCF as an option. Can you tell me any additional details on your job? Do you work weekend options? What are your hours like? Benefits? I am from SW Michigan and cannot wait to get through school and get started.. Thanks in advance..

Does anyone work in a state facility? I am curious about what I can expect working at a state psychiatric facility. I probably would work there anyway if offered a position, regardless of pay (within reason) but I would like an idea anyway. :coollook: Any ideas?

Elmira Psychiatric (State run) shows 35K on their job description. This is par for NYState LPNs (DDSO is the same), though I don't know if there is a shift differential. Benefits are very good also.

I'm in Southern Illinois and I currently work in Home Health. Eight years ago I started out at 13.50/hr and am now up to 15.75/hr. That is pretty decent pay for LPN's around here. Several area hospitals start new LPN's out at 11.72 and new RN's out at 18.00.

I live in San Jose, CA and as a new grad working at an LTC the pay started at $26.00

What do you mean by less case load? Do you mean the number of patients, or the acuity of cases? I'm asking because I work in a nursing home in Western PA and have 30 people to care for, where the hospital jobs have 5-8 people.

I work in the Bay Area in Solano county (California) at a LTCF and I get $25.40/hr as a new grad with NO shift differential for NOC shift and no benefits. I heard other LTCF in neighboring Napa county pay LVNs up to $27/hr and in San Francisco county up to $30/hr with benefits and shift differential. Clinic LVNs can get paid anywhere in between $20/hr - $28/hr in the bay area. With State Hospitals/Prisons, pay varies depending on geographical location and experience. This can range from $3200/month to $4500/month. The plus side is that there's always OT if u want to work and the benifits are phenominal... at least that's what they told me when I applied there earlier this year. :nurse:
