LPN/LVN rate of pay in your area.

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)

Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?

I live in California now, and am not really sure what LPNs are making. I was surprised in reading my hometown newspaper, which is from a little town in western PA with very low housing costs, that the county owned LTC pays a starting rate of $23. I'm not sure that they start at any more than that here, where $23 an hour is barely enough to cover living expenses.

I live in a small town in Georgia and make $14.00/hr in a doctors office. I will soon get health insurance, profit sharing, and retirement benefits. Oh, and I'm supposed to be due for a HUGE raise next month. All in all with weekends and evenings off, I can't complain! :D

I live in Kansas City and I make $18.50/hr plus differentials after that and I am full time with benefits. Our PRN LPNs make $22-25, but I applied for some agency jobs this week and I was only offered $18 at one place and $20 at another and I am also IV cert. I was only making $14/hr at my last job with no differentials, you can see why I left. So, I would say that in this area it would be $14-$22/hr. Hope this helps you!

Where in KC are you working now Shop? NKCH here, like the pay rate you are getting. Let me know.

Shopgal,

Although I have been in Oklahoma for the past 29 years, I am originally from Kansas City. I grew up there, graduated from Ruskin HIgh School &

took my nurses training at Research Hospital & Medical Center.I worked there for 4 years, then worked at Baptist Medical Center in the cardiopulmonary

unit for 4 years. I was just curious to know where you have worked in Kansas City. I should have stayed in Kansas City. I have been an LPN for 37 years and am only making $17/hr-----& only making that much because I have an administrative position! Where I am in Oklahoma is way below salaries elsewhere.

I work in a 31 bed privately owned assisted living facility in north west Ohio near Toledo. I have 13 years experience and earn $18.00/hr. which is good for my area. I was making $13.00/hr at my last position, which was nearly 2 yrs ago. I am now driving 40min to work (as apposed to 8 min) for the extra $5.00 an hr.

Anybody from North Louisiana. What is the pay like in that area?

Anyone know the going rate for Los Angeles? I have 5 years experience as a Hospital Corpsman (medic) in the Navy. That breaks down to 1 yr in an ER, 2 years in a FP clinic and 2 years in a physical therapy clinic. I challenge the board in July. Will my experience help me get a good starting salary or will I be looked at as a rookie since I have never actually been an LPN?

I work at Specialty Hosp. of Mid-America with the Vents in Overland Park, KS. Our facility is also big on education and so if there is any kind of cert. that you need or CEUs, they pay you to go, I mean pay for your class and then you clock in and go to class, they pay you hourly for being there! I think that I will stay awhile.

any clue about pay rates in western tennessee...memphis, jackson, dyersburg?

I'm a new grad LPN working in the hospital. They started me out at 12.12 an hour. It's pathetic, but I figured I'd get better experience starting out in acute care.

I live in texas (in a very small town). I work L&D, med surg, and ER at the local hospital and make 14.00 plus shift differential (1.00 weekends, 1.50 nights). I know an LVN that makes 32.00 hour doing the weekend plan in Fort Worth. I have been considering applying where she works and making the drive 3 days a week (120 miles).
