  1. I am currently working in a surgeon's office as an assistant, because I am enrolled in LPN school right now. I will start clinicals in the summertime. I am currently making around 12.00 an hour. I know an LPN who has twenty-five years experience, and just took a job at a local hospital making 12.50 working in the operating room. If you are working in the north, louisiana area (shreveport, monroe) please let me know what the rate of pay is. Granted, money is not my only motive for entering this profession I just want to make sure I can earn a little more when I get out of school, because I have school loans to pay off. Thanks in advance for any information that anybody maybe able to provide.:wink2:

I am in a situation, much like a lot of other people. I have a B.S. in healthcare and went back to school for my nursing degree. I have all of the pre-requisites necessary for the nursing program, but lack the clinical part. My problem is financially i am tapped out i cannot get any loans from any school because they are all two year. I did get a private loan and that was a mistake because I dropped below six hours or basically I did not have any classes to take torward the rn program, and am now repaying on three college loans. My gripe, to make a long story short is why do people refer to lpn's as glorified cna's. I have worked with lpn's before as a tech at a hospital, and some of the best nurses were lpn's who I thought were very well educated. I know I am rambling, but I am a 32 year old male, and my only option for me to get money coming back in is to go the lpn route and gain experience, and then let the hospital pay for it while I go for my rn. I know this has probably been asked before, but do you enjoy being an lpn? Oh, and taking care of patients that is a given. I have been told by many nurses that I am very good with patients.
  3. Anybody from North Louisiana. What is the pay like in that area?
  4. What if you were convicted of a misdemeanor and you had it expunged off your record. I had all my records and information destroyed. There isn't a way for them to look that information up is there. I am applying to one school and they said that if you had your records expunged to check yes that you have been convicted. My question how would they know if it has been expunged and how would they be able to find your information if it is already destroyed.
