Hi everyone, I'm looking into attending LPN classes at Porter & Chester in Connecticut. I have a interview coming up and I'm wondering how was the application process, and interviews. Also wondering how were the classes/professors and clinical's. Thank you so much for any responses in advance. Have a great day.

Moved to our LPN Nursing Student forum.

I start the program on January 16!!! I'm soooo excited!!!

The process was fairly easy so long as you're organized. Initial meeting with an advisor and a test. If you pass, they have you take the TEAS exam. If you pass that, you get an interview with the nursing program director. Then financial aid once you're accepted. Keep us posted how you make out!! I'll check back. Best wishes!!!

Ps. I'm attending the Enfield campus

Thanks for the response & Congratulations to you for getting accepted into nursing school! I'm excited also! I passed the teas exam and I'm just waiting for the interview with the nurse program director. I'm hoping to start January 16. I'll be attending the Stratford Campus.

I'm looking to restart nursing school. Single mom, 4 year old. What does everyone suggest? I already have a BS in a related field. LPN, RN, BSN schools? Any thoughts about Stone & Porter?

Hi there, I'm looking to start soon too. Can we chat?

Hi Wendylee.williams, that's great that you've decided to continue to pursue nursing. :) I'm excited about the journey as well. If it were me I would go into a BSN Nursing program. The only reason for that you having your bachelors degree you can fast track and graduate with your bachelors in Nursing.

I haven't heard of Stone & Porter School, I'll look into it today. A few schools I know about is: Goodwin College, University of Bridgeport and St. Vincents School of Nursing. I guess it depends on if your willing to commute and where you live.

Imho best thing to do would be to think about the pros and cons on the routes you decide to take in becoming a Nurse. Also take into account the school/college if its accredited, location, etc.

I'm currently in the process of enrolling in Porter & Chester's LPN program. I went to the school, asked questions and am satisfied with the responses. I'll be starting next month. I decided to go this route because I am new to Nursing and want to see if I like being a Nurse. This has been a goal for a long time and is my passion, so I'm excited about taking these steps.

Good luck & keep us posted in your process. I'll keep everyone updated as well. :) ;)

Tell me why you decided Porter?

Tell me why you decided Porter?

Hi WendyLee, I decided on Porter & Chester because of the location and also I heard positive reviews about the school.

So far I have no complaints. The enrollment process was easy and the staff is friendly & helpful. Yes, it is costly, but worth it. We had orientation and now will be starting classes next week. I'll keep the forums posted as the process moves along.

WendyLee are you going to choose this school for LPN?

Hi there,

How did you like the Enfield campus?

How challenging your LPN classes were? And do you mind sharing about how much you had to pay?
