LPN jobs in NE Ohio for new grads -- do they even exist?

Nurses LPN/LVN

Hi everyone, I have read all the employment threads but I am specifically looking for info on LPN jobs in NE Ohio for new grads.

I am sorry this is so long, I just wanted to get some advice.

The stress of my current job is really hurting my health. It's hard to explain, but where I work, they don't want the publicity of lay-offs, so they are creating an atmosphere of constructive dismissal for people who people who have been there for more than a few years, abusing people to try to make them quit (the women especially).

The abuse is hard to explain, and I won't try to do it here. Suffice it to say that there are people in the bathroom throwing up and having IBS from it, and people in their cars crying at lunch break -- grown men, mind you. They are making up false things on reviews, yelling at people with spit flying out of their mouths, etc. It's beyond description, but when they fire you, they give you a nice fat package so people try not to quit. That's also why no one gets a lawyer or goes to the media, as this place has more money than God (so they have the best lawyers) and they won't give you your package if you get a lawyer or go to the media (although I have heard through the grapevine that some are trying to sue). I am not exaggerating; this place is beyond belief or anything I have ever seen or even read about.

Anyway -- I have a master's degree in a non-medical field, and I was planning to go into PA school. However, I don't think I can hold out that long as I have all my pre-req's to do. So, I was thinking about LPN school.

I have always dreamed of becoming a nurse but I let people talk me out of it all my life due to low self-esteem. Also, financial and family hurdles held me back. I am different now and I WANT to do this!

I'm a single mom so I need something that will lead to a license fairly quickly, so I think LPN might be for me. I don't think I can spare the time and money for RN right now; plus to be honest I am awful at algebra and all the programs here require it. I was going to start learning it but I feel I can't stay at my current job long enough to master algebra right now.

So -- I have heard terrible horror stories about there being NO JOBS for new grad LPN's in NE Ohio. I want to know if this is true? ARE there any jobs? Is it hopeless job market-wise to become an LPN? Will my previous education and work experience matter at all (I have a feeling it won't)?

Any answers will be very much appreciated. Thank you all!

Hi :) The majority of places who will take LPN new grads will advertise so, and yes they exist. Honestly, I know of a few places that will take anyone that are too cheap to advertise lol. Your current employer sucks. Just wait til the karma train rolls in..........the guy or lady responsible for all the dishonesty will be admitted to the hospital.........and who should walk in but you. :)

Hi, I am a new graduate LPN who has been looking for a position for about 5 months with no luck. You mentioned that you know of some LTC facilities that will hire new grads. Can you tell me who they are so I can apply if I haven't already done so.

Thanks so much, I'm really at a loss here.
