LPN ignoring staff

Published

Okay, so this is a random question but it's currently happening to me. I work in LTC on night shift.

Sorry for the rambly post.

My buidling has two sidea, A and B. I used to work A side frequently alongside a nurse, let's call him Greg. In recent months I've exclusively been on B side. We always got along relatively well, with me sticking exclusively to telling him work related things or sharing general greetings.

Recently he started ignoring another LPN because he did not like how the other took a med pack from him. He then began to ignore me, although I have so far done nothing to offend him to my knowledge as I've been on the other side of the buidling. I know he's ignoring me because his girlfriend works my side and he always comes by.

Then when I came back tonight I am on A side. Rather than tell me where I'm assigned, he tells the CNA in front of me and doesn't give me report or acknowledge me whatsoever.

I'm honestly confused and a little befuddled that he's behaving in such a manner. I greeted him since he has begun this yet he completely bypassed me to greet another oncoming aide.

Tdlr; LPN is actively ignoring me. What to do?

Has anyone had this happen to them, or have advice?

You could always ask the LPN if there is any specific reason he has decided to ignore you. It is better than guessing and attempting to interpret his behavior. After all, only he knows why he is doing this.

That's true. I considered it, but when I tried speaking to him he ignored me although it was just a greeting. He's known for this behavior and has been picking fights with othet nurses lately so maybe it's just a bad mood. I'll try what you suggested.
