Hi guys, so I'm in the LPN-BSN program. With that I wanted to do LTC being that they're open 24hrs and would work w/any school schedule but unfortunately it didn't work out and I decided that maybe LTC isn't for me (another story). I've always been interested in working in a clinic and had two interviews. Everything was going great until I told them I was in the nursing program and handed them my school schedule for the year, then it all went down hill from there. They were like we need more flexibility and sometimes a student's schedule can be unpredictable. I guess they overlooked that part on my application and didn't realize I was in school before interviewing me. My question is, is it wise to present my school schedule w/them at the end of the interview or should I wait til offered a position. I just don't want to waste anyone's time and be an inconvenience to them, so I'm upfront in telling them what I can give them. There are a few clinics hiring part-time which would work out great but am I' doing too much by showing them my school schedule? Thanks!

I think you are better off mentioning it in the beginning. As you said, you don't want to waste their time, nor do you want yours wasted, either. If the job is not a good fit for your lifestyle, commitments and goals, it will show and no one would be happy. Best of luck with school!
