LPN experience?

Specializes in ICU Stepdown.

I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to. When you search LPN jobs and the description says that you'll need experience, are they referring to solely LPN experience? Is there any advantages to having PCT or CNA experience?

Thank you in advance

Nursing experience (as a licensed nurse) is what they mean but that doesn't mean CNA or tech experience won't be considered depending on the job. Private duty or home health nurses truly need paid nursing experience.

"Experience required" means the employer wants paid work experience as a licensed nurse.

"Experience preferred" means the employer wants licensed nursing experience, but is willing to hire new grads under some circumstances.
