i am in my 5th year of school for a bsn and i have one more year left. i was wondering if by the end of this year could i take the lpn certification test and work as an lpn during my last year of school?

there is a program at a tech school that is a two year program for rn and after the first year, they can take the lpn cert. test. so wouldn't that mean i could as well? and how would i go about doing so???

check w/ your state Board of Nursing or the school. Most programs after a certain number of clinical hours you can sit for the NCLEX-PN while you're still taking the RN courses

thanks:) i'll do that!

You want to ask about "licensre" as an LPN. Certification is something else.

As stated above, it depends on your state, as well as how your program is set up. Not all programs meet state requirements for this.

Before you do that, I would check out some of the facilities in your area, you many do better with a nurse extern program where your duties will be geared more towards your RN training. Also look at the salary, it may not be very different at all.
