LPN certificate and CNA ?

Published

While waiting to pass NCLEX, I'd like to work in the medical field. What job can I get with my LPN certificate? Does that entitle me to work as a CNA/PCT? I would like to work in the medical field while Im waiting. Any ideas? Thanks

depends on your BON and facility. Some facilities will let you work as a graduate nurse for up to 90 days (atleast here in VA) while others require you to work as a CNA until you are certified.

here in Va, if you don't pass your boards in those 90 days, you get "downgraded" to a CNA/PCT until you can pass your boards.

hope that helps

Yes here in South Dakota you can work on a Temp. License until you take your boards. If you are unsure just contact the Board of Nursing in your state!
