We cannot offer legal advice. Consult a lawyer. Reach out to practices or spas and determine what their level of knowledge is.
Also, are you going to be providing these services as a LPN? If you do not advertise you're a nurse or offer nursing services, does it mean you're practicing as a nurse anyway? This may not fall under BON jurisdiction.
Botox is an RX required item. You can only purchase it via Allergan directly, and to purchase it you must have a valid NPI. Also administering botox requires a diagnosis, even for cosmetic reasons.
My aunt is a DNP who owns her own med spa in Portland, OR - I work for her as needed, and process her paperwork, administer botox. Some steps may vary depending on state, but it is an RX required item and requires a diagnosis, even for "off label" use such as fine lines / wrinkles - as the company uses the procedure codes to track incidentals of side effects, adverse reactions.

I have been a licensed nurse for 15 years a recently got my certification in botox and dermal filler administration . The North Carolina board of nursing says that if I am working in a setting where patients are presenting themselves for cosmetic reasons only and not needing a doctor's perscription or order, I can administer botox without the presence of a prescribing physician, NP, etc.
Does this mean that I can work independently in a non medical spa or salon??
it goes farther into saying that I can administer without an order if I'mcomplying with the North Carolinacosmetic act which the act States that nurses are exempt from their article, given that I am practicing under general statutes chapter 90 of the nursing practice act which I do every day in my job.
I'm just wondering if anybody has any clarification on this.
