Is anyone thinking about going on to get there associates degree RN, I am but kinda scared at 42. I feel the LPN field is so limited these days and the only thing for us is nursing home jobs in my state of wisc.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

I definitely plan to complete an LVN-to-RN bridge program in the near future.

i am definitly going to get my degree. i am 34 and just finished lpn school and i love nursing so much, i am going on for my associates, bachelors and masters....if you love nursing, there is always more you can do.

as a graduate pn (i still am waiting for my att) i got a job at a local hospital on the oncology floor. i never worked as a cna or anything. the pn class was my first taste of the medical world, and i love it. :nurse:

so, if you want to pursue your associates, your age or anything else shouldn't matter. the only thing that matters is there are people out there that need our help, and i for one....want to make that difference.

so go for it!!!!! i am sure you will do great!!!!

I am also a recent LPN graduate (38 yrs old), and I do plan to pursue my RN after I work as an LPN for a year or two. I think it will secure my future in nursing and of course the demand and pay are higher for the RN.

:( I am always thinking about getting my RN degree but it's very hard to find a school. Anybody know that?

I am 35 and have just started my slow  process of school. Of course, being out of school for about 17 years, I have to get all the pre-reqs. It may take my 5 years going part-time and working full-time, but I'm determined!!! I say GO FOR IT!!!
