It is a new program so there is limited information online, but they were open and honest with the information that they provided at these sessions. Current students were there as well, and they offered insight into the process and the program. The first cohort started in August of 2023 so there is no attrition rates or data yet. It will be published after they graduate in August of 2026.

1) Hybrid means that you will be required to move to NOLA in August of your accepting year, but your classes will be online. You will be required to attend in person meetings throughout the semester. The second semester you start in person with your anesthesia classes.

2) Interviews seem to be based on pathophysiology, pharmacology and EI questions. Students hinted at knowing your own unit that you work on/ are familiar with. You will guide your interview.

3) 24 students will be admitted regardless of being in the dual or not.

4) Clinical sites are all over the New Orleans/ Baton Rouge area with the farthest site being in Lafayette.

5) At the open house the program director, the assistant director and another anesthesia faculty member were there. They said that all the anesthesia classes will be taught by one of them, but non-anesthesia courses will be taught by other faculty of Loyola.

6) This is an integrated program. Clinical rotations start the first semester of year 2.

Is anyone else having trouble getting to NOLA from out of state? All my flights got canceled :(

My interview is next week so no issues as of right now. I would definitely contact the program and ask what your options are. Maybe they would allow virtual under the circumstances?

Me too! Looks like my flights out of Sacramento are still good? You probably could still find some flights but tickets are probably up now

Oh good I'm glad your flights are still good! I'm so confused to why all the ones on mine canceled because only my second flights are canceled when landing in NOLA. I just checked prices and they're like 1k +, yikes!

Right! All my flights I booked had to be connecting flights but only the second leg has been getting canceled. I rebooked like 3 times and it still got canceled lmao

Does anyone know if they will be rescheduling interviews or offering a virtual option due to the weather? I haven't heard anything
