Loyola Hybrid ABSN Fall 2019

Published

Hey everyone,

I recently got accepted into Loyola's Hybrid ABSN for Fall 2019. I just wanted to meet some of you who will be in the program or talk with those who are already in the program. Regardless if you're interested in the hybrid or traditional, comment below anyways! If you're already in the program, how is it so far?

@hopefulnursetobe123 If you decide to make a Facebook, let me know. I can add you to the group! Cali is so far. I'm about 30 mins away from the campus. I saw you commented on another thread about finding housing. Do you have any towns in mind?

I will make one. Do you mind messaging the link to me?

Honestly, I really don't know. I like the Ravenswood/Lincoln Square part of Chicago. There's adequate parking, too lol.

I am not sure about the other towns because I don't have experience. Someone else mentioned Lisle? I am open to anything that is safe, affordable, has parking, and is relatively close to campus/clinical sites.

Do you know anything about the clinical sites?

@hopefulnursetobe123 email me at [email protected] and I'll send it.

I'm not entirely familiar with Chicago neighborhoods but I think the places you named are a bit far from the campus. Driving to and from the city will be annoying with traffic. I wish I knew more about the clinical sites and where they'll be. I did ask the enrollment adviser the average radius and I don't entirely remember but I want to say within a 45 mile radius from the campus. I wish I remembered where I wrote it down so I can double check.

Lisle is very close. Other towns are Darien, Woodridge, Westmont, Willowbrook, Lombard. There are many towns nearby so continue to research! I have a few people in my family that live around these areas and I personally don't think they're bad places. I also don't live in these towns so I can't be 100% sure, but I think they'll be fine. These towns are nice suburban areas....with nice malls nearby haha. And if you were ever wanting to go to the city, the drive would be fine if there's no traffic and there are train stops that go through these towns as well.

Thank you so much for the response! I will look into these areas.

Hi, I sent you an e-mail. Feel free to add me as well, if you'd like ?

Hey all, I’ve been admitted also and will start the hybrid program this upcoming fall.. i would like to get the link to the Facebook group to keep in contact with you guys ☺️

Hi everyone. I'm planning on starting the hybrid program in spring 2020. Does anyone know what the schedule is like for the first semester? I saw someone posted that we have to be on campus 2-4 times per week, but that seems excessive for only one lab. Thanks in advance!

So i have a question for you all , what loan providers are you guys using for the program and what are some good loan providers? I need to apply for one ASAP

Hi everyone! I'm in the group on facebook already, just wanted to reach out on here too! :)

Is anyone else running into issues of when their lab time is? I got put in the Tuesday lab group from 1-5pm and I'm needing a morning slot. My adviser said she can try and work with me, but that basically I need to reach out too. This is the first time in college that I haven't been able to pick the class times needed for teaching in the evenings.

A little bit about me....I live in Elk Grove Village, IL and was a professional modern and ballet dancer. I teach dance for a living, and its how i'm paying for school! I'm very excited to meet you guys when classes start!

As for loans, I got mine through Wells Fargo! It was a pretty smooth process and now I'm just waiting on Fin. Aid to approve things.

Allybee54, did she say who to reach out to? Are you able to try to trade sections with another student? I too find it odd that we can't pick any class times. I was warned that I may not get the section I need when I asked about getting into a night class for my lab.
