Hey,
I am starting this thread for those who are applying or already got into Loyola University of Chicago's ABSN program for the Fall 2020 cohort (Downers Grove or Maywood).
I just finished my application and submitted it last week for the on-site program in Maywood. I am hoping to hear back soon, this school is my top choice!
I would be moving from Colorado and know almost nothing about the area.
Feel free to share any tips, tricks, and inspiration!!

Hi,
I'm also applying to Loyola Maywood Campus. Hopefully I'll turn it in before Thanksgiving. I heard the decision comes out 2-3 weeks after.
Really concerned about my GPA because I have below 3.0. Hopefully they look at my application holistically. Do you mind sharing your stats? I have my degree in psychology. Not much health experience besides volunteering.
Good luck to all of us!
Hey!
I just found out today that I got into Maywood! I am so excited!
I have a 3.4, both my parents are nurses, and I’m a pharmacy technician. I also have over 200 volunteer hours.
I will need to find housing for August. I am coming from Colorado so I know nothing about the Chicago area. Does anybody have any tips or where to live??

Yay!! That’s so exciting. I was thinking we could start a Facebook page or a GroupMe for the Maywood cohort! What do you think?

Hey everyone!
I'm applying for the Fall 2020 ABSN onsite program in Maywood, and I just sent my application in this past week. I'm super excited to hear back! I'm a tad worried about my GPA (3.1 BA in Economics), though my science GPA is higher. I'm really banking on my essay and volunteering to show my qualities and skills. If accepted, my boyfriend and I will be moving from Nashville! I've only been to Chicago a handful of times and I was wondering if any of you knew good areas to look in for housing (my BF would be working in the city so somewhere between Maywood and DT Chicago). I'm excited to hopefully get to meet all of you in the Fall!

I'm looking into Oak Park, which is an area relatively in between both areas, but Maywood is a bit far from true downtown unfortunately. Let us know when you hear back!
I just logged into my account to see if my second recommender posted her recommendation, and my application list changed to admit checklist. I've read in other threads this means I've gotten in, but I just want to see if anyone had a similar experience. I don't want to get my hopes up without an official letter, argh!

Yes this means you got in! My email didn't come for a few days after. It should have all the prereqs and deposit listed now instead!

Ah! I only see the prereqs, not the deposit, but my admissions counselor emailed me two hours ago saying my application was under review so maybe it'll just take some time! I'm so excited yet nervous at the same time!!

Hi everyone! I also have applied to the Maywood program and my application status is now showing the admit checklist and a deposit request, so based on what I've seen here I think that means I'm in! We currently live in Chicago and I'm 99% sure I'll be attending. Excited to hear from everyone else who will be in the program!
Once I got the admit checklist, it was about 10 hours until I got the status update email! I'm still waiting to hear back from one school, but I put the deposit down for Loyola because I don't think i'll be getting into Vanderbilt! I've already started looking for apartments in Chicago, i'm too excited!
