Loyola Chicago ABSN Spring 2017

Hi, everyone!

I've applied and been accepted to Loyola's ABSN for Spring 2017! I've been searching online, and I haven't seen much about students from this upcoming group. Has anyone else here applied/been accepted/thought about applying? I'll be moving from North Carolina, and I'll be looking for housing soon. There is a Facebook group that I have been invited to, but I can only see how many "likes" the page has, not necessarily who has liked it. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from people!

Hi there, I applied to the program in the beginning of September. I heard back from the admissions committee about three weeks later, I got accepted. I am on the fence though about actually going because I exhausted most of my undergraduate federal aid, and I'm not sure how I will pay for it. I also applied to Rush's GEM and DePaul's MENP program so we'll see!

So glad I found this post! I've also been accepted into Loyola's Spring 2017 class and haven't seen much of anything about the school. Does anyone know how they structure classes? I'm in the process of deciding between Loyola and another program. I also was wondering how people found roommates? I'll be moving from Arizona

BBsnow: Good luck with your applications to the other schools! I completely understand your hesitation with loans and paying for it... the program definitely isn't cheap!! I've heard great things about Rush and DePaul, though!! I would love to keep in touch if you do end up deciding on Loyola.

klcamp6, as far as I've been told, it's a Monday thru Friday structure with clinicals starting in the second semester (during the summer for us). After that, it'll be a mix of clinical and in-class instruction. I'm in the same situation about finding roommates, though!! There is a Facebook group you can join - they should've sent you an email containing the link once you were accepted, but there doesn't seem to be much activity on it so far.

Hey guys! So I'm I definitely decided to go to Loyola. I put my deposit down finally! Yay, and the deposit goes towards tuition. :) I like the thought of having my bsn in 16 months! Lori and the facility are all so nice. I'd rather get out sooner and just do my masters online. Loyola also offers masters credits if you get higher than 3.5 gpa your first semester in the program which is a huge incentive. Nice to meet you all!

BBsnow, that's awesome!! Have you joined the Facebook group yet? Are you at all familiar with the area & housing? I didn't know Loyola offered some masters credits thru their ABSN. That's amazing.

Super glad I found some fellow classmates somewhere on this website! I haven't put down my $500 deposit yet so maybe that's why I haven't received the Facebook group link? I'm not sure. Do you know how many courses are taught online? I've seen mixed comments on that and I really prefer in-class learning

Well, it's not much of a group haha. It's a Facebook page that you can "like" but we can't actually see other people on the page that have liked it as well. Myself and one other person are the only 2 people that have posted anything so far. If you want to find it, just type in "ABSN Spring 2017 Cohort" on Facebook's search bar - I don't think it's exclusive as to who can join. As far as online classes go, I'm not 100% sure, but I'm in the same boat as you. I get lazy if it's not in-class haha.

Thanks so much! I've found and liked the page/commented. Hopefully more people post as they start settling into where they would like to go. I'm planning on calling tomorrow and asking so I'll update you when I find out

Awesome, thanks so much!!

Hey.. would any of you be able/ willing to edit my persona; statement?

If so I'd greatly appreciate it [=
