Lower Columbia LPN-RN 2021-2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

I'm starting this thread, because I couldn't find one for this year's application process for Lower Columbia (LCC)'s LPN-RN program. Please share any helpful information! What are you using to study for the TEAS and Kaplan exams?

Yessss, it’s all I think about.

if you don’t mind me asking, what were your scores? If you remember.
Where did you do your clinicals and preceptorship?

Hi there, sorry, I don't log on here much right now because I'm busy with work and clinicals.  My clinicals and preceptorship are in Chehalis/Centralia.  I don't remember my entry scores, but I think they are listed somewhere in this thread.  Have you taken your TEAS and Kaplan yet?  Good luck, it's a very busy year, but I"m glad I made the plunge.

Thank you ? I found your earlier post and it looks like we have the exact same combined score of both tests!

Hello,

I applied last year for e-learning and passed both TEAS and Kaplan but was not accepted due to high competition. I scored high this year and cross my fingers I am expecting to get accepted. My question is I am working full time and I am a mother of two kids is the program really hard to manage with full-time work? how is the clinical I live in the Seattle area is there any closer placement for the Seattle area. how often in the week the clinical/ preceptor will be and how long it will take to finish the clinical.

the other question I have is:  I am applying for e-learning; is the instructor will give you detailed instructions for the online courses to make things less stressful?

I'm also a single parents, but my kids are older (one is an adult really, but one teenage daughter).  I also have absolutely no family or support in this country, so I had/have nobody to fall back on or get help.  I work 30 hours a week (no weekends), and it was doable up until Summer.  The problem is with the two weeks on campus and then clinicals.  Better figure out how to make it work with your job now.  This last quarter is the worst yet because of so many unknowns. Overall a pretty good program though, even though if I could have afforded it, I would have done an online LPN to BSN program, like Indiana State.  Some of my coworkers did it, and they seemed much less stressed than me during clinicals.

What are some of the unknowns that you faced?

Right now, not knowing what hours my preceptor works and juggling my current job hours.  Also, it's been hard to work my regular job while going to clinicals.

Thank you so much for answering my question quickly. I can imagine how busy you will be in the program as a single-mom student with no help. I will be the same as you; my kids are 6 and 9 I don't have any help as well. If I got accepted, I will figure out something about Summer.

I know this was from last year, but did the send out emails to people who didn't get in before the students that did??

Hey Linda,

Did the nursing program also align with LCC’s academic calendar regarding breaks (Spring break, Winter break) or does the program follow their own schedule for breaks?
