Low GPA, high SAT. Will high score on the TEAS grant better chance at admission?

Hi, I'm a senior in college, Biology major, and am expecting to graduate in December. I am attempting to attend Valdosta State University's Accelerated BSN program. Sadly, I do have a lower gpa(2.5), but am more than capable of doing the work, having letters from multiple professors saying so. I do think that I have about 2 more prereq's that I could take to boost my gpa a little. After taking these 2 classes and scoring highly on the TEAS, would there be any chance that I'd be able to get into this program?

did you see the admission standards?

admission information

  • minimum cumulative gpa of 2.8 in the 60 semester hours of core curriculum courses required for the nursing major. (only required core courses will be used to calculate the nursing gpa). (official transcript required)

most students applying these days have a gpa well about that. members have posted that even with gpa 3.2 -3.5 , still not accepted at some programs due to number applicants applying wih higher gpa and qualifications.

anyone attended or is attending valdosta state university school ...

best wishes in what you choose.

Thanks for your response. I really appreciate it.

I did see that information. I lived on that site for a bout 3 days reading everything I could about their program. I do remember their list of requirements but was wondering if their may have been any exceptions.

Again, thanks for taking the time to read and respond to my post.
