Low back injury

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I was an ER nurse for three years, worked as a travel nurse as well. Had a bad accident at work and bulged three discs.

I need some advice, I am looking for a low key job while I try some alternative therapies. I am also trying to avoid surgery so I do not want to go back to the ER while my injury is still fresh and my body not strong.

I live in Las Vegas, any help would be appreciated.

I was thinking working for a lawyer would be perfect.

I'm sorry you're dealing with an injury. Chronic pain is not an easy thing to work through.

Low key jobs might be found in a doctor's office, case management, telephone triage. Working for a lawyer might be good too- and you can also look into working for the state. There are nurses employed by the department of health and human services who help follow up on cases.

Be very careful - - if you are injured at work and they cannot find an appropriate position in-house, then you should be collecting workers' comp and/or some type of disability income. If you then work outside of your facility you may jeopardize your situation.

Consult a lawyer.
