I finally got out of my long term care/ SNF job after five years. I wanted some more excitement and experience and couldnt quite get into the acute hospital so I went with an acute rehab hospital and I'm glad I did. I haven't had any patients there yet but I did have a week of classroom training in stroke, spinal cord injury, amputations, levels of coma recovery, and others. I was refreshed on skills/ trach care, IVs, blood transfusions central lines, etc. People go from really poor conditions to complete recovery there . Tons of continuing education through the year. So far the environment has been so positive and supportive and the buildings are so bright and aesthetically pleasing. Their policies make a lot more sense to me than my previous job and My passions have been refueled so far, it renewed my lifelong learner side. The grass is greener.. I know it's not going to be all perfect every day on the floor but I'm positive I'm going to love it. Just a positive note for everyone today!
