I just had a bad experience with Trustaff. Basically they lied to me until they cost me a job with a hospital. Anyone else had a bad experience with a travel company they would like to share with the rest of us?

So far I've been unimpressed by American Mobile. Very cocky recruiters and low pay quotes compared to other companies.
Any company that makes you jump through a bunch of hoops before they "submit" you to jobs imho it is not worth it.
1. Tell me about the jobs you can find for me
and then if I want the job.
2. I'll spend the several hours it takes to get all your boxes filled in.
This is a red flag for me personally.
Those are the "qualifiers" I use to get a job now also. I will not send in tons of paperwork either until I know what is available. Plus I will not take the "PBSD" or whatever the test is called that certain hospitals are using to weed out travelers.

Ugh...American Mobile sux! I'm so glad I didn't go with them. There are several travelers at my current position who are with AMN and they are all so broke! They pay them dirt and it's biweekly,...and one took the housing and the apartment they found for her was awful, in the country with no heat, cable or internet. When I was contemplating them, the recruiter kept offering jobs to places i didn't want to go to. If they were the last company hiring, I would go permanent before I went with American Mobile yech!

I would have to agree with everyone about american mobile and nurses rx. If you have a choice do not choose american mobile. They are all lies, greedy, and ruthless.. I personaly do not have any idea which is the best company. However it doesn't take long on the internet before you realize what amn is all about. Good luck to you sweety and I hope that you find something that you like and at least with a decent, honest recruiter... Just FYI.. traveling is amazing and you will really like it

Hi everyone, just had a huge hissy fit last week with NRX, very poor communication of what contract included. No mention that it was to be a float position to 2 clinics with a 1 hr drive to other clinic. Driving @ 430 am in dark, rain, and/or fog is my idea of a glorious way to start my day. Like the Marines say Hoo-rah! I WAS NOT STUPID ENOUGH TO TAKE IT! As a traveler, we are thought of and sometimes treated as machines, pawns and non human, we need a union or something that protects our rights against cheap companies and hospitals.

I talked to recruiters for over a year but I took my first assignment. It lasted all of 2 days. Long story short, they tried to pull a fast one, I caught on, told them to either fix it or I would walk. I walked. A month later, I went with a recruiter and a company that I had been talking with for over a year and I couldn't be happier. I talked with AMN and found that their pay rate is low, and continues to be low, housing is substandard. They don't support their nurses, they will push you to take assignments that you don't want. I could go on and on.
I learned alot, here on this site and by talking with other travelers. I love this job, the freedom, no politics, no stress.
Hope all is well in this new year.
