Hello all, I'm new here although I've read some posts when googling a question. I'm finishing my third quarter in a 2 year associate RN program and up until now I've been elated with everything to do with nursing. I've totally emersed myself into the medical field. But now, I feel as if my drive is gone...it was staring to wane slowly and I figured it was just a burnout. A few weeks ago in clinical a nurse told me to take out an IV and something about all the tape to peel off (it was excessive) causing the pt some pain and it was my first time doing it then the bleeding that followed...I almost passed out. Since that experience I've completely lost confidence in myself and my motivation... Has any one else experienced this or have any advice?

I got clammy and dizzy and had to sit on the floor to avoid fainting ...over an accucheck. It happens. Don't read too much into it.

I'm currently in my first semester of nursing school, my professor said a student passed out in clinicals and broke their jaw. They had wires and all, after they healed they came right back and finished the program. You got this!
