losing hope in nursing school

U.S.A. North Carolina

I am so desperate to get into nursing school and I have lost all pacience. I applied to UNC-CH may 2012 cohort and got rejected i guess i shouldnt have put all my eggs into one basket but that was my only choice knowing I can not afford to go to duke or leave home for college. My other options are NCCU which has a huge process to get into I have to take 7 more classes!!!! after getting my aa's degree from dtech that is just ridiculous. My other option is going back to dtech and gettin my RN there but I have worked halfway through to get my bsn. I am currently thinking of retrying for UNC may 2013 and work at NCCU's brigde program+ 3 extra courses for fall 2013. I feel I am going to graduate when am 30 yrs. old (am 23)!!!!! I just need some hope and want to know if anyone is going through or went through something similiar. Some advice from those that made it, got in, or anything. At this point I feel lost :(

thats exactly how i felt a couple of months back...instead of crying about it for like 2 years I decided that I wasnt ready to give up and decided to just become an LPN first....best decision I ever made! LPN school's arent really as competitive as RN programs so I would definitley look into it and you can then bridge over to RN iif this is something that you really want....theres nothing that you cant do...just put your mind to it and everything will eventually fall into place

UNC-CH is extremely competitive to get into and they are cutting back due to budgetary strains. Why continue to put all your hopes and dreams into one particular program? I'm not saying to not try there again, but if you are serious about this goal you have got to consider other options.... even lengthier ones :(. It's taking me 3 years to get a 2 year degree so I know how much that sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do. If you only have an AA, I doubt you will find a school where you can get the BSN without taking additional classes. I already have a BS degree and I am still having a devil of a time finding RN-BSN programs that don't require me to take 1-3 additional fluff classes. *Sigh* I may have an idea for you if you are willing to relocate but your only issue is funds. My school has programs that help people in that situation (and it's not loans - that's what the "just say no" campaign should have really been about!), but I don't want to put too much identifying info online so PM me if you would like more details. G/L

thnx for the advice am just so anxious to get even into the door cuz I know it doesnt get any easier after that. @trophywife i would like to know more where is that program by the way?? ...am kinda slow on this site i added u as a frnd but i cant find the message link lol
